TELL ME
Tell Me
My hazy eyes met her crystal irises
As another bass dropped
And drunken ‘woo’s pervaded an overpacked basement.
The lights illuminated for sparse moments
But I had already found what I was looking for
In your eyes.
That familiar face of grace
I had the honor to see so often.
Glances were returned
And smiles were exchanged.
Like an angel of death, you floated to me
I guess it was my time.
In our alcohol-augmented field of vision
We danced like figure skaters.
My hands graced your hips
As your hand ruffled into my hair.
Our smiles grew closer and closer until
Our lips were begging to get acquainted.
You grabbed my shirt and pulled me into your world.
Slow-motion songs swayed by as the night welcomed our lust.
We walked home arm in arm
Looking at the stars and laughing at fate.
Like cracks in the sidewalk,
We were tripping over each other.
Our lips met again in the elevator.
Our clothes fell on the floor
Like confetti, celebrating what was to come
The door closed
Leaving the world away.
Leaving only our skin
And our lust
To be utilized as one.
. . .
We lie in bed.
Whisper to me.
Please,
Tell me everything you’ve ever wanted to say.
